How long after balancing can we swim?

After routine dosing you can typically swim within 20 to 30 minutes once the pump has circulated the water. After a shock treatment, wait until free chlorine falls back below 5 ppm, which is usually 8 to 24 hours.

Should I add chemicals before or after cleaning?

Always brush and clean first, then test, then dose. Brushing releases debris and biofilm into the water, which changes chlorine demand, so testing beforehand gives you a number you are about to invalidate.

Why is my pool cloudy even though chlorine is high?

Cloudiness with adequate chlorine usually points to high pH disabling the sanitizer, a filtration problem, or very fine particulate the filter cannot catch. We check pH and filter pressure first, then clarify if the water still will not clear.

Do saltwater pools still need chemicals?

Yes. A salt system generates chlorine, but pH, alkalinity, calcium, stabilizer, and salt level all still need managing. Salt pools tend to drift high on pH, so regular acid dosing is normal.

How is stabilizer lowered?

Cyanuric acid does not evaporate or burn off, so the only reliable method is partial drain and refill. We calculate the exact percentage needed rather than draining blindly, which protects the shell and keeps water waste down.
